La Salud - 15x22 wc
This small church in San Miguel is one of my favorites. Not so much for the church itself, although it is very beautiful, but because it sits in a lively plaza called Plaza Civica. The streets on either side of the plaza are filled with markets and stores where all the local people shop. Sometimes I go to the plaza early in the morning just to sit down on a bench and sketch people walking by for half an hour or more. Over time I have done several paintings in and around the plaza. There are few tourists but lots of local people, the Mexicans who live, work and shop here everyday.
